I have a bunch of WIPs (Work-in-Progress[s]) and this one is one of my favorites. I always seem to have some lace shawl going on. The shawl is called Moonlight Sonata and can be found here.
It’s grown since I took pictures yesterday, though. I plan to use up my two skeins of Shadow Kettle-Dyed (trying to use up my stash).
I love this project, but it is probably one of the most challenging I’ve faced so far. Why? Because I keep having to go back and fix mistakes. The first time I attempted the Moonlight Sonata… Well, it ended in a completely frogged shawl. It was so beautiful, that I forgave it and decided I would try it again later.
Fastforward to me buying the yarn. It was supposed to be a Whisper Cardigan (Ravelry link), but I didn’t like how it was coming out, so I frogged it. Then I tried to design a lace scarf in crochet. I didn’t even get half-way before Christmas knitting hit me hard and it fell to the way-side.
I kept looking at that scarf guiltily, but I knew I was never going to finish it. So I am frogging it as I knit my shawl, and I am so much happier. I can’t wait to have a full-sized, lace-weight shawl for myself!
