Elegant Fingerless Mitts

So far, no one’s tried to do the snowflake sortingWell, there are still a few days if you want to win the snowflakes pictured in the header.  The contest is now over.

I finished the Cancans.  I love them.  They actually did not take as long as I thought they would, considering I almost finished one glove in a day.  I probably could have if I wasn’t working and doing other stuff.  Too bad they don’t belong to me.  Makes me want to design a pair of elbow-length fingerless gloves (and I probably will).

Pattern: Cancans
Yarn: Bamboo & Ewe (1 skein!)
Needle: Size 2
Major Mods: 5 repeats of the twisted cable before starting on the arm and mirrored cable.

In other news, I’m trying to curb my tendency to knit an idea before writing any of the pattern, which leads to:

Yes, I screwed up on the swatch.  Can you find the mistake?

Sizing is so difficult.  I’ve only sized mine, and I’m trying to work the rest out first, at least the body, anyway.  It’ll be an opportunity to finish my Dad’s vest before I start this.  (Yeah.  It’s still not done.)
