I’ve only been working on these couple of things that are actual WIPs.
The Angee sock is coming along, and so is Chou-gok (Little Mums). Plus I’m trying to work out how to spin my next yarn, but I’ll do a big post on that when I actually spin something.
I finished this yesterday, so I shall show you some pictures of blocking. This is my Geoui shawl, one of my latest designs, and it was inspired by the edging from Kali’s Cowl.
Pre-blocking:
It looks so different in the sun. It’s so shiny. I would say the above picture captures the colors best.
Clearly the scallops are rounded, but a bit ruffly, and the dcs have a definite wave about them. It’s a bit accordion like, actually.
I wanted nicely rounded scallops still, so I pinned out every single picot. Seriously.
Full shot of the whole shawl. Sort of. I couldn’t capture the right edge. (I’m too short, even when standing on a chair!)
Detail shot. It was sooo worth it to pin out every picot. It’s drying, so no unpinned blocked pictures.
The pattern will be tested as soon as I finish writing it up. The hardest part is the chart. If not for that, the pattern would be done already!
I’m impressed that you are charting it in addition to writing the pattern and designing it as well. The colors are beautiful, and I, too like the yarn’s sheen. I love you new banner! Really spices the place up!
