I’ve been trying to use up my yarn lately, and doing a pretty decent job of it.  This is just the latest in the stashbusting category.

IMG_1065Yeah, I was bored with the camera.  Haha.  But I think it’s a hilarious picture anyway.  The red hat is making me look pinker than I really am.

IMG_1066After knitting Elleby, I decided that I liked the look of 2×2 ribbing the best, and two inches worth of it.  So that’s why I chose not to knit the brim as written (picot).  The hat is huge, and I wish I knit the body with a smaller needle, but it’s still a really fun (and warm!) hat.

IMG_1070I totally love it, and I’m keeping it for myself, even though I rarely wear hats out.  And yet, most of my stashbusting projects are hats…  Go figure.

If I were to knit it again, I would use a smaller needle for the body, and possibly cut out a repeat.  I haven’t blocked this one either.  Eh.  I like the texture as is.
